Curing Cancer One Canvas at a Time

Alongside a variety of medical offices in the community, we, South Florida Physical Medicine, hosted a vibrant event of philanthropic painting for the Kid’s Cancer Foundation. Our goal as a business, is to help all of those in need in our community right here in Royal Palm Beach. As an organization, we decided to host a charity event for a very special cause dear to our hearts. Kids Cancer Foundation is an organization that we wanted to work with to help children with cancer, enjoy their time as kids without focusing solely on cancer. We chose to donate all our raised funds to the Kid’s Cancer Foundation in honor of one of our own employee’s experience with pediatric cancer.

Kevin Barr jr, our marketer, has a nephew, Aiden, who is a survivor of pediatric cancer. Aiden was diagnosed when he was just two years old with ganglioneuroblastoma. Aiden began displaying symptoms when he was around 15 months old; however, it took until he was a little over three years old to finally figure out what was wrong. Thankfully, Aiden has not any issues since his tumor removal in 2012, but the doctors will not consider Aiden truly “cancer-free” until August of this year. Thus, for Kevin and Aiden, choosing the Kid’s Cancer Foundation to donate the event’s proceeds was an easy choice. The Kid’s Cancer Foundation provides family with not only financial support, but also emotional support for both the family and the child. Dusty’s Art Live crew was a pleasure to work with. Not only did they ensure that each participant had an awesome experience, but they came out to support our cause, which allowed us to successfully raise over $400! We are so grateful for the support from our community to be able to do fun and rewarding events like these.
